BIOGRAPHY

Bonnie is a composer, writer, vocalist/performer and speaker. She has composed the words and music to hundreds of songs. Many songs are written with a particular theme for workshops, rituals, liturgies, prayer days and retreats. Frequent topics are child wounds, healing, a woman’s journey, spiritual and personal growth. Bonnie shares life experiences in song and storytelling with humor, inspiration and wisdom.

Bonnie from the age of three could carry a tune perfectly and harmonize. She used to ask people to sing a song so she could harmonize to it. In high school she did a great deal of singing and performing in pop and jazz styles. For many years she sang with liturgical groups and wrote and performed music she was commissioned to write for people’s special occasions.

She considers her prolific songwriting a pure gift. Many times, songs come to her very quickly; she goes to the piano without a clue that she’s going to start writing a song, and all of a sudden a song is birthing. She almost always writes the words and melody at the same time.

Bonnie holds a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Mercy College of Detroit (U of Detroit-Mercy) and St. Louis University. She also spent two years in a Carmelite monastery. She has been married for 50 years this October and lives with her husband, Charlie, in Auburn, California. They have two adult children, Lynn and David.
